Introduction: Journeys School of Teton Science Schools in Jackson, Wyoming is an innovative Pre-K through 12th grade school that integrates ecology, culture and community to ensure academic excellence and personal success. Leadership at Journeys School is distributed, enabling all faculty to have administrative duties. Most faculty have both classroom experience and experience in progressive settings, multi-age environments, project-based learning and curriculum design. All faculty meet for one week after school ends and three weeks before school begins to reflect, evaluate and plan. Previous success in team-oriented workplaces and demonstrated initiative are required. Advanced degrees are preferable. Salary commensurate with experience, excellent benefits package.

Middle School Science Faculty (Grades 6-8) (Full-time): The middle school at Journeys School is seeking a dynamic and energetic science teacher to join a collaborative and student-focused team. Specific duties will include teaching science and advisory. Dependent upon experience, the position may include a math or current events class. As a small collaborative school, all teachers play a role in curriculum design and leadership. Successful candidates will have demonstrated skills in communication, teaching excellence and building rapport with students and families in previous work environments. Experience in thematic teaching, projects and curriculum design will enhance qualifications. Interest in living and teaching in a small mountain community important; ability to communicate and establish rapport with middle school students essential. Undergraduate degree required, preferably in subject area or in general education, advanced degree preferred.
Spanish/World Languages Faculty (Grades 6-8) (Full/Part-time – one year position): The middle school at Journeys School is seeking a dynamic and energetic teacher to join a collaborative and student-focused team. Previous experience or interest in developing locally relevant curriculum along with teaching reading, writing, and mathematics is desirable. Qualifications include an undergraduate degree in education or subject area, previous classroom experience, a demonstrated passion for teaching at the elementary level, superior communication skills, and an excellent work ethic. Successful candidates will have demonstrated skills in collaboration, communication, and building rapport with students in previous work environments. Experience in multi-age education, thematic teaching, projects and curriculum design will enhance qualifications. Spanish fluency, language instruction training, performing arts (music/drama), computers, or social studies training are desirable but not required.
Upper Elementary Faculty (Grades 3-5) (Full-time: August-November, 2008): The upper elementary school at Journeys School is seeking a dynamic and energetic teacher to join the upper elementary team for the fall trimester. Health Sciences Coordinator: The Journeys School is seeking a dynamic and energetic teacher to join our innovative school to help develop and teach the Health Sciences and Physical Education program (preK-12). Specific teaching duties include health sciences and physical education. Other duties include coordination of Winter Sports Program, oversight of safety and risk management, outdoor education, and athletics coordinator. Qualifications include an undergraduate degree (graduate degree preferred) in education or subject area, previous classroom experience, a demonstrated passion for teaching, superior communication skills, and an excellent work ethic. Successful candidates will have demonstrated skills in collaboration, communication, and building rapport with students in previous work environments. Experience in a variety of athletic activities and outdoor education background important. Willingness to teach a variety of classes, build an exceptional Health Sciences program, and work with a passionate faculty in a small, innovative school critical.
