Middle School (6-8)

The middle school provides students with challenging, relevant, place-based learning experiences. Our learning community allows students to discover and develop their inherent talents and interests. Children of middle school age, 10 through 14 years old, present unique educational rewards and challenges. During these years, they begin to examine the world on a global scale and to consider their place in it. A child who is keenly aware of the role of humans in the world is poised to become an adult who uses creative and critical thinking skills to make wise choices. Such individuals are able to grow in their personal life, in the life of their community, and be aware of decisions that have national and global implications.

The middle school program book (657KB PDF) describes our curriculum in more detail and provides general information about the middle school structure.
